Drum Trailer 4720 PP 2500KG
This single‑axle cable drum trailer is designed for safe transport and efficient handling of cable drums in sizes K12 to K24. Based on the proven 4720 STD concept, this version is intended to operate with a separate hydraulic powerpack that supplies the lifting boom and, when specified, the optional hydraulic drum drive. All functions are controlled via ergonomic control levers positioned at the front of the trailer, providing precise and smooth operation during loading, unloading, and cable handling.
The trailer is equipped with a braked and sprung axle, overrun brake, and mechanical parking brake, ensuring stable and compliant road transport. As standard, it includes full road lighting and a rear underrun protection. The drum shaft is supplied with two complete sets of cones and locking rings to accommodate different drum widths securely. Upon request, the trailer is type‑approved and registered, allowing immediate use upon delivery.
Hydraulic in‑ and out‑spooling (optional)
With the optional hydraulic drum drive kit, controlled in‑ and out‑spooling of cable is easily achieved. The kit is designed for K12–K24 drums and is typically powered by one of the designated hydraulic powerpacks in combination with a hydraulic worm drive. Drum rotation is then controlled directly from the same control panel as the lifting boom. Existing Sahlins drive units type 2042 with C‑worm can also be used, allowing the drum to be driven and controlled directly from the connected motor.
Powerpack options
The trailer is intended for use with a standalone hydraulic powerpack that supplies oil flow for the lifting boom and optional drum drive. Customers can choose between a conventional petrol or diesel powerpack, or the patented, battery‑powered hydraulic unit type 1019, depending on site requirements and emission constraints.
