The BKT 18 to BKT 80 cable drum trailers are designed for efficient transport, loading, and laying of cable drums in demanding site conditions. The series combines easy single‑operator loading, high versatility, and excellent trailing performance, making it suitable for power, telecom, and pipeline installation projects where reliability and flexibility are essential.

The trailers are built on a robust twin‑axle chassis that effectively absorbs high axle loads and severe shocks when travelling over rough or uneven terrain. This design ensures smooth and stable trailing behavior without bouncing or jumping, even under heavy loads. Dynamic forces generated during acceleration and braking are damped and only partially transmitted to the towing vehicle, reducing stress on the coupling and improving overall driving safety. When uncoupled, the empty trailer can be manoeuvred by hand, as the weight distribution is concentrated towards the rear of the chassis.

Depending on model, the BKT series offers a high degree of versatility. Trailers from BKT 18 to BKT 27 can be configured for transporting HDPE tubing drums, cable drums, pipe coil cages, loading platforms, or a carrier set for up to nine micro‑duct drums. Loading is fast and efficient: regardless of ground conditions, a single operator can load a cable drum within minutes. Using fingertip control, the trailer lifts the drum into pick‑up position and automatically transfers it into the trailing position between the axles, ensuring correct weight distribution and safe transport.

Unlike conventional cable trailers with limited application scope, the BKT series is designed as a true multipurpose trailer. With minor modifications, it can be converted into a transport solution for tipping containers with capacities of up to 9 m³. This multifunctional concept allows the trailer to be used not only for cable transport and laying, but also for material logistics and waste handling on site, improving overall equipment utilisation.

As standard, models BKT 18, BKT 23, and BKT 27 are hot‑dip galvanised for long‑term corrosion protection. Models BKT 40, BKT 60, and BKT 80 are supplied primed and finished in RAL 3020, with hot‑dip galvanisation available and recommended for extended service life in harsh environments.
