The EZiCAT i550‑t100 is a versatile cable and utility locating system designed to accurately detect and trace buried cables prior to excavation. The kit combines a high‑performance receiver with the EZiTEX t100 transmitter, enabling both passive and active locating methods. It is particularly suitable for electricians, contractors, and landscaping professionals who need reliable cable detection and depth measurement in demanding environments.
The receiver supports standard passive detection of 50/60 Hz power signals and radio frequencies, while the transmitter enables active tracing by inducing an 8 kHz or 33 kHz signal into de‑energized cables. This induction function allows safe signal transfer without direct connection, simply by placing the transmitter above the cable route. For direct connection to live systems, a dedicated signal adapter (optional accessory) must be used. The integrated depth measurement function ensures accurate assessment of cable burial depth before excavation work, reducing the risk of costly damage.
The transmitter is housed in a compact IP65-rated waterproof case, allowing operation in harsh weather conditions and placement directly on the ground. The receiver itself is rated IP54, ensuring reliable performance in outdoor environments. The kit is delivered complete with transmitter, receiver, connection leads, ground stake set, batteries, and a robust transport case for immediate use on site. Optional accessories such as a signal clamp further extend its application for troubleshooting both energized and de‑energized installations.
