Model 3400 is a heavy‑duty hydraulic cable winch for underground power cable installation with a maximum pulling force of 4 tons (4,000 kp). It is the largest model in the winch series and is designed for controlled installation of LV, MV, and HV power cables in trenches and ducts where very high pulling capacity, precise force control, and operational safety are essential. The winch is trailer‑mounted and intended for demanding applications within utility, infrastructure, and civil engineering projects.

The winch is built with a dual capstan wheel design, ensuring constant access to full pulling force throughout the entire operation, regardless of rope wrap. This construction provides stable, predictable, and safe pulling performance even under extreme loads. The steel wire drum is equipped with an automatic level winder to ensure even spooling and reduced wear on the wire. The robust chassis features a sprung axle, overrun brake, hand brake, adjustable support legs, and jockey wheel, enabling safe transport, stable positioning, and efficient handling on site. As standard, Model 3400 is supplied with Ø10 mm × 1,050 m steel wire, protective cover (tarpaulin), and a drawbar pre‑mounted in transport brackets.

The hydraulic system incorporates a variable displacement pump, allowing stepless adjustment of both pulling force and pulling speed. This enables precise adaptation to cable type, duct conditions, and installation requirements. The operator control panel provides straightforward control of in/out direction, speed, and engine throttle. The pressure gauge also allows the operator to set a maximum allowable pulling force using a red pointer, offering effective protection for sensitive power cables.

For documentation and quality assurance, an optional logging unit is available for Model 3400. The unit records pulling force, speed, and installed length, and the log can be saved and exported to an external drive after completion of the work. As standard, the winch is equipped with a non‑rotating pulling eye. Ball‑bearing swivels may cause the wire or cable to twist and suffer damage; if rotation is required, a friction swivel is recommended, which rotates stepwise based on torsional load in the cable, minimizing stress and wear.
