Sahlins cable blowing equipment 3012 is designed for efficient and safe installation of fiber optic cables in protective ducts. The machine is intended for professional use in fiber network deployment where controlled installation, flexibility, and long blowing distances are required. The equipment supports both conventional air blowing and installation using water flushing, allowing adaptation to different duct conditions and project requirements.
The cable is mechanically fed forward by an air‑motor‑driven feeder, while the actual transport of the cable through the duct is carried by either compressed air or water. The drive belts are powered by two independent air motors, ensuring even traction and stable cable handling. The feeding speed is fully adjustable, allowing precise control based on cable type, duct configuration, and installation conditions. Air supply to the feeder motors is taken directly from the blowing chamber and regulated via a separate pressure regulator, providing reliable and controlled operation.
This design enables safe installation of fiber cables over distances of several kilometers, depending on duct quality, cable characteristics, and the chosen carrier medium (compressed air or water). The equipment is supplied as standard with a ground stand but can also be mounted in the Sahlins manhole stand (art. no. 5060‑0310) for installations in manholes. Optional accessories include blowing nozzles in various sizes (Ø 10–17 mm) and a set of clamping jaws for secure fixation of ducts.
The feeder unit is connected to an external compressor with a minimum working pressure of 10 bar and an air flow of approximately 10 m³/min (corresponding to approx. 130–170 l/s), making the system compatible with commonly used contractor compressors.
