The UFS 17240 is a precision tool designed for chamfering the primary insulation on medium-voltage (MV) power cables. It enables consistent 2 × 45° bevel cuts, ensuring correct cable preparation prior to jointing and termination. With an application range of Ø15–60 mm, the tool covers a wide spectrum of MV cable dimensions and insulation types.
The tool is mounted using a secure clamp system that provides stable positioning during operation, ensuring accurate and repeatable chamfering results. Integrated PTFE sliding plates minimize friction and allow smooth movement along the cable surface without the need for silicone grease, improving efficiency and cleanliness on site. The replaceable blade system ensures long service life and easy maintenance, while the maximum rotation diameter of 130 mm accommodates typical MV cable constructions. The tool is specifically designed for chamfering operations and is not intended for pencilling.
Supplied with a hex key and a compact soft nylon case, the UFS 17240 is optimized for field applications in cable installation environments. It is intended strictly for use on de-energized cables in accordance with safe working practices.
