The FBS 17220 cable stripper is a precision tool designed for safe and controlled removal of vulcanized semiconductive layers on medium- and high-voltage power cables. It is suitable for cable diameters from Ø10 to 52 mm and insulation thicknesses up to 1.5 mm, making it ideal for jointing and termination preparation in LV/MV/HV applications.
The tool features a vice-like positioning system that ensures stable and secure mounting on the cable during operation. An integrated axial feed system allows activation and deactivation in both directions, providing full operator control when stripping either from the cable end or along its length. Depending on stripping direction, a controlled residual semicon layer remains (approx. 25 mm from outside-in operation, approx. 6 mm from inside-out operation), ensuring consistent preparation according to standard jointing practices. The interchangeable blade system provides flexibility and easy maintenance, while the maximum rotating diameter of 200 mm allows use on a wide range of cable constructions.
Supplied as a complete set including hex key, silicone grease, and a durable resin case, the FBS 17220 is well suited for field use in demanding installation environments. The tool is designed strictly for de-energized cables, ensuring compliance with safe working procedures.
