The AMX 17300 is a robust and versatile cable stripping tool designed for heavy-duty removal of outer sheaths on LV and MV power cables. It is specifically developed for polyethylene and fully bonded aluminium outer layers, making it highly suitable for demanding cable preparation work in installation and maintenance environments. With an application range of Ø16–54 mm and insulation thickness up to 5 mm, the tool covers a wide spectrum of cable types.
The tool supports both longitudinal and circular cutting, allowing flexible operation depending on the installation requirement. Cutting depth can be precisely adjusted in 0.1 mm increments, ensuring controlled stripping without damaging underlying layers. The quick-release fixation system with toggle lever enables fast and secure mounting on the cable, reducing setup time on site. An integrated claw facilitates breaking and removing tough insulation materials after cutting, which is especially useful when working with bonded or hardened sheaths. The handle allows accurate pre-setting of cable diameter, ensuring consistent results across different cable sizes. With a maximum rotation diameter of 300 mm, the tool is suitable for larger cable constructions commonly used in LV/MV networks.
Supplied as a complete kit including feed lever, hex key and soft carrying case, the AMX 17300 is designed for efficient field use. It is intended exclusively for use on de-energized cables in accordance with standard safety procedures.
